- Warren recorded a majority of the album by himself at Anatomy Of A Headache, his home studio. The raw 8-track ADAT tapes were then produced by Paul Q. Kolderie and Sean Slade with additional instrumentation.

- Peter Asher produced a remix of Warren's cover of "Back In The High LIfe Again" that only appeared on promotional CD singles.

- The CD booklet for Life'll Kill Ya includes artwork of a skeleton army taken from The Triumph Of Death, an oil painting by Pieter Bruegel the Elder. The artwork also appeared on the back cover of the Zevon compilation album A Quiet Normal Life.

- For radio airplay, A "Clean House Edit" of "I Was In The House When The House Burned Down" was released as a promotional CD single..

- "Porcelain Monkey / Primate Discourse" was released a promotional CD which included an interview with Warren and two bonus live tracks. This interview later appeared on the 2007 compilation Preludes: Rare And Unreleased Recordings.

- Jill Sobule opened for Warren during his 2000 tour to support Life'll Kill Ya. Jill later covered "Don't Let Us Get Sick" on the tribute album Enjoy Every Sandwich: The Songs Of Warren Zevon.

- "Don't Let Us Get Sick" appears in the following TV series: Resident Alien, The Good Wife, and Girls.

- The first vinyl release of Life'll Kill Ya came from Ship To Shore Phonograph Co. in 2020, followed by a grey marble colored vinyl edition in 2023.
